Learning Coordinator

In this role, I led the end-to-end coordination of learning and development for 90 colleagues across multiple grades and roles. I had ownership of tax specific and project work Learning Pathways ensuring they were aligned with current legislation, created accessible learning materials using a variety of mediums, as well as maintaining and developing the businesses Learning Pathways for over 600 staff to ensure high-quality delivery and continuous improvement. I sourced, matched and supported coaches to align development activity with individual learning needs. I set and maintained clear learning standards, held weekly progress meetings and worked closely with managers to resolve learning-related issues and provide expert guidance. I collaborated with national Learning Coordinators to design and implement a new 5–7 week national induction programme, taking sole ownership of the creation and development of a structured bespoke digital timetable combining learner led and facilitated sessions. A cost saving of over £62,000 was achieved in the initial 12 months by implementing this programme, and over 100 colleagues across 6 sites have been successfully inducted into the business. As the site’s sole Learning Coordinator, I collaborated with a wider network of coordinators to ensure consistency and best practice, and led a cross-site working group of 25 colleagues to redesign the Development Zone process for organisation-wide rollout. I also supported a multi-grade team of Induction Support Analysts, coordinated the full setup of a new site, organised coaching schedules and training plans, delivered face-to-face training and provided HR support to new managers.

Throughout, I monitored progress against learning targets, produced regular reports for planning teams and actively promoted career development opportunities to support colleague progression and performance.

I was the manager of a multi-grade team of 13 Risk Analysts responsible for producing high-quality intelligence reports, I ensured that operational targets were consistently achieved and that all outputs met required quality standards. I was responsible for completing daily target checks and conducting weekly project variance reviews to ensure performance remained on track and aligned with delivery expectations. I worked closely with the site Planner, attending regular project progress meetings to monitor milestones and address emerging issues. I also participated in monthly planning meetings, contributing to discussions on forward-looking activity, team development needs and succession planning. I addressed work-related issues promptly to maintain performance and continuity. I was accountable for ensuring all team members completed mandatory learning, and I carried out quarterly development reviews to support professional and personal growth. I managed HR matters appropriately and in line with organisational policy, fostering a positive, compliant and high-performing team environment.

Volunteer Roles

Cleft Lip & Palate Association (CLAPA) 2022 – present

I volunteer for the charity in a variety of meaningful ways, sharing my lived experience through antenatal classes and online sessions for parents, and moderating virtual groups to ensure safeguarding policies are consistently upheld. I also sit on interview panels for staff recruitment and host webinars for both parents and Health Care Professionals on a range of topics. In addition, I have contributed to a co‑development group, helping to shape and strengthen the experience of current and future volunteers.

Nuneaton Scouting Gangshow Volunteer 2019 – present

Working alongside a small team of volunteers, I support the costume department for the annual scouting show, helping to fit and prepare costumes for up to 90 cast members across a wide range of age groups. During show week, I also serve as one of the Chaperone Leads, ensuring that all children are safe, well‑supported and able to enjoy their experience throughout rehearsals and performances.
