I am a former primary school teacher with several years of experience in a demanding, fast-paced educational environment. Following an accident that resulted in a long-term nerve condition, I have had to make the difficult decision to step away from teaching, as the physical demands of the role are no longer sustainable for me. I am now seeking a transistion into a role where I can apply my teaching expertise and previous youth work experience in a new capacity—continuing to work with people and contribute to our local communities, but within a setting that better supports my health and ongoing recovery.
As a dedicated Primary School Teacher, I plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons that meet the diverse learning needs of pupils across the curriculum. I am skilled in classroom management, assessment for learning, and creating an inclusive, supportive environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. My role also involves collaborating with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support pupil progress, promote wellbeing, and ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
My experience working within CAMHS with children and young people who were out of education has equipped me with a deep understanding of the barriers to learning and the importance of holistic, trauma-informed support. In this role, I developed strong skills in building trust, providing emotional and practical guidance, and working collaboratively with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to help young people re-engage with education and community life. This experience has strengthened my ability to communicate effectively, adapt to individual needs, and create supportive environments—skills I am eager to bring to a new role where I can continue making a positive difference in young people’s lives.
