I have 28 years of broadcasting experience with an enormous variety of roles across both news and programmes.
I am a people person, with a ferociously inquisitive personality. I love to find out what makes people happy or sad and engage with them to share their stories.
I have a knack for putting people at ease and getting the best conversation out of them.
I love to be the first to know and share information.
I am an excellent communicator.
My main responsibilty and focus is to fully immerse myself in the lives of the people that make up the local communities I broadcast to. I join them on their journeys, feel what they feel and share the amazing stories they all have within them, in a way that supports, enhances and celebrates them, whilst engaging and entertaining the audience.
I have an enormous network of local contacts and aquaintances and I excell at keeping in touch with people, organisations and their daily developments.
I bring out the very best in other people, in conversation with my guests and also when talking to audiences about what they are going to hear.
One of my best skills is putting people at ease and making friends out of my guests.
Waking up with the dedicated community of listeners on the best day of the week was a privilege as well as a joyful responsibility.
The lives, experiences, stories and hugely meaningful connections I made, have remained with me and I consider myself still very much involved in both dioceses I worked with.
Reflecting life in the area, through discussion and storytelling from real people, with light entertainment quizzes and excellent music.
I
During this time, I was responsible for bulletin compilation and delivery for five Heart Breakfast Shows from different areas. I included national and local stories for each patch and recorded four bulletins per hour as well as delivering one live.
My main responsibilty was to decide on the top stories and write the copy to appeal to our core audience.
As main co-host of a successful Breakfast Show, I was heavily involved in content creation. Topicality was one of the main critera as well as a reflection of the real lives and experinces, thoughts, fears and hopes of our typical audience.
One of my particular skills was an ability to immerse myself in the life of a 'normal listener' and reflect things that an average person thinks about and has to deal with, whilst putting a light hearted and entertaining spin on life's daily hassles.
During my time as News Editor, my goal was to sharpen the news agenda, make the bulletins as focussed and information driven as possible with the maximum amount of relatability to our audience.
I was in constant contact with all areas of our community, including schools, all sports clubs, local businesses and local Government. My goal was to drench our news patch with our presence, so that we would become the first place to turn for local information, news and celebration.
I achieved this with a massive network of contacts and excellent relationships within all areas of the local community and society as well as supporting my team of Journalists and Reporters to do the same.
