  • This post involved allocating accommodation to international students coming to study in the UK
  • I worked in a small Accommodation team reporting to an accommodation manager and was responsible for answering all queries, allocating rooms and liaising with students, landlords and agents in the UK and overseas.

  • This job role consists of all things across the accommodation department for the international language school EF - being a first point of contact for all students, other departments and Host families regarding homestay accommodation - before, during and sometimes after a student’s study period to deal with queries
  • This comprised of payment issues, comfortability in the home, welfare and disciplinary issues (which were relayed to welfare dept.) host family issues, issues the host families had with students etc
  • I was also responsible for allocating students to suitable homes in advance of arrival into the country ensuring that the students preferences were followed as closely as possible (special diets, allergies etc)
  • This meant being in close liaison with sales offices in different locations around the world where EF courses are offered
  • People skills and communication were vital as myself or other coordinators would have to also be the face-to-face point of contact in the school office for students.

  • My position involved communicating with spectators and making sure that if they needed help in any way I, as a crowd steward, would be there to provide that support including organising medical attention if required
  • The role also required us to be at the London ExCeL centre for 6am every day and work 12-14 hour per day shifts.

  • I was responsible for the centre operations, on call throughout the day, room setup, catering, setting up course equipment and managing payments
  • The centre offered administrative support – This meant me liaising with sponsoring reps, writing up sponsorship agreements, designing flyers, assisting setup of online page and online payment portals formatting evaluation forms, and much more
  • Equipment setup - helping to set up the simulation equipment, such as Sim man, Sim baby and bronchoscopy simulation machine – these were essential for the emergent medical scenarios that were simulated for medical staff training purposes.

I love creating music. Singing is my main creative skill and hobby however I do sometimes dabble with producing software’s too. I also enjoy computer games every so often – when I get the time! I do like a good series binge on the weekend too. Other than that, having a laugh with my friends or family is where it’s at for me.
