Ceremonies are carried out both at register offices and at approved premises around the county.This role requires excellent people skills, organisational skills and a caring, professional and warm approach to brides and grooms who are often feeling very nervous.
I also regularly mentor new starters through to their sign off.
I will also be undertaking required technical assessments within the team to ensure colleagues are meeting required standards and identifying areas needing improvement or additional training.
I will continue with this role as I can be flexible in my availability and this works well with additional roles.

I was a member of the Fostering Recruitment Team, responsible for the recruitment of Foster carers within Gloucestershire.
First point of contact for prospective foster carers (by phone, email & contact at information stands in the county)
Conducting initial fact finding "interviews" by phone and ensuring initial checks completed liaising with admin team.
Accurate recording of information on system and ongoing contact with applicants where required, adhering to required deadlines & GDPR.
Conducting information sessions both online and face-to-face with prospective applicants ( via PowerPoint presentations)
Initial home visits to prospective carers at the next stage of the application process to conduct health & safety checks, pet checks, genograms, ecomaps and DBS checks.
Providing reports to senior managers of progress of applicants and chasing required documents with outside agencies eg Contacting GP's to chase medical reports, contact with previous employers to follow up references & schools to follow up parent references.
Working closely with assessing social workers to discuss initial contact information and any concerns, & providing outstanding information and updating records through the assessment process.
Attending forums with other teams to discuss recruitment improvement ideas and updates to processes.
Providing regular shadowing opportunities to new members of the resource eg new student social workers and family support workers.
Working closely with the marketing and communications officer to continuously update publications and website content.
A very Customer focused role requiring excellent communication skills, empathy and accurate admin skills.

Training Coordinator in the Fostering Recruitment Team ( covering maternity) coordinating and arranging new courses for new foster carers.
Placements Officer in the Fostering Rdcruitment Team - assisting with the initial placement finding for children and young people requiring care in Gloucestershire. Liaising with Foster Carers and relevant social workers and maintaining and updating accurate records.
Marketing Officer in Adoption Team (covering maternity) - organising radio advertising, updating and producing publications, running recruitment events and producing monthly newsletters.
Fostering Recruitment Duty Officer - first point of contact for prospective foster carers, going on to apply and be taken on for this role in a permanent contract.
Registration temporary contracts - in addition I also had some temporary assignments in the Registration service:
Ceremonies Team - taking ceremony bookings over the phone, responding to email enquiries, & booking notice appointments, birth & death registration appointments.
Birth Registrations - During a very busy period (with staff shortages) after a period of training, I carried out birth registrations at Shire Hall.
