1. Bradford Royal Infirmary (Bradford)
Six-week placement in MSK outpatient department.
Date November to December 2023
- Independent managing own caseload in the team (including treatment/ discharge referrals, conducting dictations, and delegating workload to other members of the team ), and continued to seek new patients to enrich personal growth as a physiotherapist.
- Work closely with other PT, hand specialists, and OT to create specialised treatment plans.
- Aware of risks and contraindications of treatments.
- Progress and regress treatments according to patient goals with information and reassurance to care provided to address the whole individual but not focusing solely on the presentation.
2. Shipley Community Team (Shipley)
Six-week placement in the community team- frail elderly fall prevention.
Date: September to November 2023
- Initiated new exercise classes and interventions to accommodate ever-changing patients' needs.
- Demonstrated robust exercise prescription skills backed by contemporary evidence to strengthen the credibility of therapy tailored to diverse patient conditions.
- Managed own caseload in a rehabilitation unit and delegated workload to other PT, OT, and therapist assistants.
- Created an overall population guideline on different postcodes in the Bradford area for future students to aid understanding of service user groups and how can we tailor our care to unique health needs
- Vigilant approach to risk assessment during home visits.
3. Yorkshire Clinic (Ramsey Health- Bingly)
Five-week placement in MSK and the orthopaedic department.
Date: April to May 2023
- Lead exercise classes for pre and post-operative patients, and pre-operative education classes to promote motivation during patients' rehabilitation journey.
- Demonstrated great development in clinical reasoning and exhibited good exercise prescription skills.
- Proactively seek shadowing sessions among physiotherapists in a wide range of specialities.
- conditions included: TKR, THR, GHJ Hydrodilatation, Frozen shoulder, Elbow Fracture, Dupuytren's, Trigger Finger, Boutonniere and Swan Neck deformity, Median nerve reconstruction, TFCC reconstruction.
4. Bradford Royal Infirmary (Bradford)
Five-week placement in neuro ward (Acute stroke).
Date: February to March 2023.
- Demonstrate empathy and compassion when communicating with patients.
- collaborated with OT, consultant, nurses, ESD team, SALT and MAIDT Team to design comprehensive patient treatment according to the patient's condition and treatment needs.
- Develop clinical reasoning, and organising workload accordingly.
- Actively seek feedback upon practice and critically reflect on scenarios to improve the quality of care that I deliver.
