Summary

With nearly 20 years of clinical nursing experience, I am looking for the next step in my career. I have extensive experience in wound care, managing emergency situations and handling deteriorating patients due to my experience in ITU nursing. I have completed ALS as well as Intensive care Foundations and Enhancing practice courses in Brighton University. My experience in looking after deteriorating patients gives me a strong foundation in looking after patients in a safe manner in any type of environment.

My previous experience as Deputy Matron allowed me to familiarise myself in auditing, incident investigations and running training programs. Although I stepped down from the role I still do the roster for the unit and complete Datix investigations when necessary. I am currently working on a QI project to reduce waste in my current place of work.

I am a team player with good leadership skills and I have good communication skills. This was enhanced by the Professional Nursing Advocate Training I completed in 2024.

I am passionate about wound care and especially burns. I am also confident in taking ECGs, venepuncture and administering injections. During my Public Health Nurse training, I worked alongside nurses in pre- and post natal clinics, administered vaccinations to babies and completed health checks in Student Health Services. I feel I have a lot to offer and I am hoping to be considered for the position of practice nurse.
