In my current role, I am mainly clearing out properties from various areas. This involves a lot of manual handling and team work as i regularly work in squads that can vary in sizes, usually between 2-4 people working together. If i'm not clearing out houses then we can be cleaning, grass cutting, tidying up gardens, needle sweeps and dismantling sheds/garages etc. I left this role 2 years ago to try a different career but returned after 6 months.

Working as a machine operator, i was in charge of using a massive a pallet sorting machine which was 2 of a kind in the world. Also working as a team with an engineer on site and forklift drivers to help the machine to run at its best pace. My role was to check pallets for damage and decide which was due for repair or resale, as well as learning 70 different pallet types to allocate to organised stacks. This was a fast paced role as different pallet uplifts were regularly coming into the yard and our jobs were to sort through as many as we could as fast as possible before any build ups could happen. There were targets to be met, as well as keeping the work areas clean and tidy regularly.

This role was agency work with full time hours working on a back shift pattern. The company we worked for was Quiz Clothing, a well known clothing brand. This was a fast paced environment, using scanners to pick orders and meet targets. This also involved getting familiar with different order types and locations within the warehouse to help with getting through orders faster and more efficiently.
