  • Directly supervised and managed a team of officers, administrator and volunteers to organise and deliver community education programmes and events efficiently and effectively
  • Led, planned, delivered and evaluated the Scottish SPCA Animal WISE programme, nationally. to help others feel inspired, skilled and able to contribute to society. This involved launching a new concept of animal welfare learning through the use of robotics through a partnership with RoboWunderkind in order to engage children and create an understanding of animals’ behaviours, reactions and feelings.
  • Established and maintained strong partnerships within the animal welfare and educational sectors to further the mission of the Scottish SPCA
  • Played a key role in identifying opportunities for external engagement and developing community education events across Scotland both in person and virtual including launching a partnership with Smartstems, taking part in all of their events which target 10-14 years olds from socially deprived backgrounds. Each event engaged between 100 to 500 young people.
  • Coordinated, and delivered core promotional activities, liaised with stakeholders and developed internal and external learning initiatives
  • Analysed feedback systems to identify and implement improvements for initiatives, resulting in a significant increase in community education rates

  • Continuously evaluated educational initiatives and was part of a collaborative research project with Roxanne Hawkins and Dr Jo Williams (Department of Clinical and Health Psychology, University of Edinburgh) and involved over 1,000 pupils across Scotland. Results from the evaluation indicated positive changes in children’s knowledge and children’s belief that animals have feelings following participation in some of our workshops, highlighting that our workshops can truly make a difference towards changing the future for animal welfare
  • Coordinated and delivered a bespoke one-to-one programme called Animal Guardians designed to help children nurture empathy and compassionate behaviour towards animals.
  • Developed and delivered ‘Magic of Nature’ pilot project aimed to help adolescents re-engage with learning, improve their mental health and wellbeing, and feel more positive about their futures through learning about animal welfare and how to connect with nature.
