At Samatrix I have been doing planned maintenance and servicing on NPT, CCSC, BCBC & RCT owned pump stations, valve chambers, and sewage treatment plants. I have installed new pumps, pump stools, Risers, guide rails, float switches, control panels, kiosks and chains when upgrading pumping stations. I have changed impellers, wear rings, mechanical seals, claws & oil changes during annual services. I have also contracted to DCWW for general maintanence on pump stations, valve chambers, CSO upgrades & General Maintenance on DCWW treatment works.

I have serviced and maintained many different types of pumps such as Flygt, Seepex, Mono, Sulzer, Grundfos, KBS, Lowara, T.T, Wilo.

pneumatic air pumps & blowers. Experience in inlet & CSO screen maintenance and repairs, gearbox reconditioning, replacing centre bearings, shafts, spindles and brackets.

I have tested and recorded insulation and resistance, and also taken current readings on single and 3 phase pumps. I’ve installed many types of pipework from mild steel, stainless steel, ductile iron, ABS and PVC. Size ranging from 8mm grease lines to 600mm reservoir scour valve pipework with use of a 100 ton crane at DCWW Upper Carno. I can cut threads on galvanized & stainless steel pipe using a threading machine. I specialist in confined space work and emergency breakdown repairs.

At Neath Valve & Engineering I learned a number of different skills such as Arc & Mig welding, basic fabrication, lathe, Milling machine work in the shop work. I reconditioned NRV‘s, Penstock valves, Isolation gate valves, PRV's ranging from 25mm-600mm. Machining and lapping valve seats, machining shafts, repacking glands before re-pressure testing valves before going back into service.

I have installed chutes, screens, open flooring, hand rail, scrapper blades, inlet screens, CSO screens. Removed the 8000kg scour Larner Johnson valve at Llwyn On reservoir for refurbishment then reinstatement.
