as a first call operative for SGN I am responsible for identifying and securing potential gas escapes to ensure the safety of the public and property, I will attend reports of gas escapes internally or externally, fires and other gas related reports such as carbon monoxide.

I will carry out site investigations and make safe hazardous situations and carry out final investigations on site,

Other day to day duties may include the installation. Fault finding and maintenance of domestic and non domestic gas meters and pressure reduction equipment, surveying network riser asset in high rise buildings for risk score analysis, surveying mains distribution asset for risk scoring analysis which forms the basis of our mains replacement program from year to year.

I also mentor and train apprentices and new colleagues coming into the business along with other field assessors and trainers within the sc east area of the business which have done since 2005 when I obtained a city and guilds qualification in assessing through a range of methods(A1) and assessing candidates performance through observation (A2)
