My responsibilities as Senior Medical Officer are;
Delivered comprehensive medical care across four major rotations: Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology (OG), and Pediatrics, each for three months. The team of 5 house officers managed the care of 60-80 patients per shift.
Medicine: Managed chronic and acute conditions, conducted patient assessments, and developed treatment plans.
Surgery: Assisted in surgical procedures, performed preoperative and postoperative care, and managed wound care.
Obstetrics & Gynecology: Assisted in deliveries, performed antenatal and postnatal care, and managed gynecological emergencies.
Pediatrics: Conducted child health assessments, managed common pediatric conditions, assisted in paediatric surgeries, and administered vaccinations.
