 My whole career has been based in Early Years Learning, I've worked in two different nurseries throughout the past 11+ years. I have progressed from a student to a qualified staff to a room leader then to an acting deputy manager. I'm currently a room leader and have been for 6 years now, this role has taught me a number of skills such as; organising a large team, knowing my responsibilities and keeping track of them, risk assessments and always thinking about health and safety aspects as well as helping my staff to become a team player and work to the best of their ability by supporting them both physically as well as mentally. Being a room leader, it's my role to keep the paperwork up to date and completed, this includes; registers, TLP's, Children's tracked progress, meeting notes with both parents and the staff as well as any professionals from outside the nursery.  Throughout my career, I have worked across various nursery settings, gaining valuable experience with children and families from diverse backgrounds, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). I have worked in two very different settings, one being a very deprived setting with various different safeguarding concerns for majority of the children in the setting, and on the other hand I'm currently in a setting which is the opposite. However, both these settings have given me numerous experiences working with children as well as their families.  I have collaborated closely with professionals across health, education, and social care to ensure children and their families receive the support they need. Whether through direct work or informal guidance outside of the workplace, I have consistently been a trusted source of support for families navigating challenging circumstances.  I have also gained a lot of knowledge on domestic violence both within adults and children, my whole life my mum has worked within this sector so it's something I'm not shy to. I have pushed for my current nursery to do training on domestic violence and I've seen first hand how eye opening it's been for certain staff whose knowledge is limited in regards to domestic violence. I have worked with children who have been victim to domestic violence as well as those who have witnessed it, and although it's heart wrenching to see and hear the stories, the way these children try to regain strength in their life is remarkable. It takes time and patience to help build a child's confidence and trust but once they're on the right path it's so rewarding.  I have over 11 years of experience working closely with children and families, supporting their individual needs and helping them thrive through care, understanding, and early intervention. Having worked in various nursery settings, I have built positive relationships with both the children and their families, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). I have completed my level 2 Understanding Autism which has taught me so much alongside my current knowledge and ongoing learning to help those with SEN needs. My role has often involved identifying concerns early, offering practical support, and working in partnership with external professionals to ensure the right help is in place. I understand the importance of creating a safe, nurturing environment where families feel heard and respected, and I am committed to empowering parents and carers while putting the child's well-being at the heart of everything I do. The main part about working with families and parents is having the connection and bond with them to allow them to feel comfortable enough to speak and accept the help from myself. It is a very rewarding part of the job also as it helps the parents as well as the children. I am passionate about supporting children, young people, and families to overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes. I have strong interpersonal and communication skills, allowing me to build trust quickly and work in partnership with families from diverse backgrounds. I am empathetic and approachable, yet also confident in setting clear boundaries and ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are met. I am organised and adaptable, and feel I can manage a varied caseload, completing assessments, and develop tailored support plans that focus on resilience, wellbeing, and long-term stability. I have a genuine commitment to promoting equality, inclusion, and empowerment, I am dedicated to helping families feel heard, valued, and supported, because I believe everyone deserves help and support and a chance given to them in life.  In addition to my childcare qualifications, I hold certifications in Prevent Duty, CAF/CON, Understanding Autism (Level 2), and am a trained Designated Safeguarding Lead. These roles have strengthened my understanding of early intervention and child protection.  I am particularly drawn to this opportunity because I am eager to broaden my knowledge beyond the nursery setting and contribute more directly to early intervention strategies.
