I help to manage a caseload of patients in the community with life limiting illness. This primarily includes the management of complex symptoms and end of life care. I work as an expert resource within the community setting, liaising with other generalist practitioners such as GPs, district nurses to promote optimal care for this group of patients
To support patients with breast cancer at diagnosis, through treatments and investigations and act as an advocate for them throughout their illness experience.

I worked for the Cancer BACUP charity as it was known then on a telephone helpline providing information to patients diagnosed with cancer and those worried about symptoms. I answered questions and provided support over the telephone and also answered emails and letters.

The hospice where I am based has its own charity so I am very familiar with working alongside a charity and the value of raising its profile and fundraising essential work that is being done
