  • Telemarketer within the company, lead generation
  • Each agent would book me in for a certain amount of time and then I would do calls for them according to their call list/ database
  • Each call was folded to what the agent wanted but the end goal of all the calls was to get in person appraisals
  • I was very successful in this role and acquired numerous appraisals for a variety of agents per day, exceeding their demands
  • It was all about coming across friendly and to listen to customers but also try get a lead within that phone call, which I found even more challenging than face to face sales
  • As customers have no obligation to stay on the call and hang up any minute
  • I was getting unto 3/4 appraisals for each agent, for the 3 course they booked me for
  • I also did roughly about 200 calls for a particular agent a day
  • I really enjoyed my role and by the end of it was confident enough to talk to anyone about anything
  • It taught me great resilience and confidence
  • By accomplishing the hardest form of sales I felt like I could speak to anyone without hesitation
  • The employer really liked me and wanted to keep me on even when I moved to NZ, but unfortunately I wanted a more full-time role doing something more hands on, requiring face to face interaction
