Technical Sales Coordinator

My responsibilities in my role are very varied:

  • I am the first point of contact for technical support on our products for both customers and our sister companies, via email and telephone.
  • I am responsible for coordinating our nonstandard product process. I maintain records of progress and requirements on projects, and liaise between the customer and our engineering department. There are typically around 50 simultaneous projects, all at various stages of completion - progress is tracked through a weekly meeting chaired by myself.
  • I am create and send product change notifications.
  • I attend customer meetings with the sales team.
  • I deliver a presentation at the bi monthly sales meeting.

Research Lab Intern

  • My internship was funded by the British Mycological Society in the plant pathology lab at the university of Bristol. I supported a PhD student's experiments for their thesis. Their project was investigating the potential use of the fungus Trichoderma as biocontrol for parasitic fungus Armillarea, which is damaging to grape crops. My duties included:
  • Designing and performing experiments within the lab. I set up plates to investigate a different mechanism of biocontrol, and monitored these.
  • Analyse results from the experiments and write reports detailing the results.
  • Research methods for performing new experiments and finding new areas to investigate within the project.
  • Create and sterilise reagents necessary for experiments.
  • Responsibly dispose of chemical and biological waste.

Hobbies & Interests

  • Music: I am self taught on guitar, bass guitar and music production using Ableton. I have recently started to learn cello with a teacher. This combines my love of learning and creative expression. I love undertaking the challenge of learning a new instrument. I travel to gigs and festivals when possible and attend local open mic nights.
  • Nature: I spend a lot my time out hiking on the North Devon coastline, I love identifying birds and plants and being outside getting some exercise. When possible, I enjoy camping further afield, to see the beautiful nature in the UK - I recently climbed Snowdon and camped nearby overnight. I enjoy wild swimming in Summertime too.
  • Reading: I love picking up books on new subjects and learning about new topics I am not already familiar with.
