I am an enthusiastic and motivated individual eager to learn new skills and gain experience in other fields, having recently completed my degree in Music and Sound production. In my time at university I have learned a number of transferrable skills, including time management, attention to detail and customer relations. I am also a dedicated Tudor re-enactor at a living history museum in a public facing role, taking on a multitude of responsibilities and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Since 2022 I have spent several weeks in Summer re-enacting at a living history museum. I have taken on a multitude of different roles and responsibilities within the museum. These include working as a coppicer (maintaining woodland), woodworker, and a soldier working with various Tudor weapons. In all of these roles I have been expected to interact with visitors and teach them about equipment and processes after only a short time learning from other re-enactors. I interact with visitors of all ages and levels of ability and adapt my explainations accordingly without breaking character. This has given me superior skills in customer relations, timekeeping (due to working with school groups on a tight schedule) and maintaining both clear communication and professionalism with the general public to ensure health and safety (e.g. explaining and supervising the handling of weapons)
During my time at university I worked closely with artists and bands in both formal and informal professional environments, communicating clearly with clients to ensure their satisfaction at all points in the production process. Additionally, I developed my time management skills and techniques through adhering to strict work deadlines, and bettered my ability to thoroughly follow instructions. I did this through attending stage building classes involving high risk and requiring active listening to ensure the safety of myself and my peers. I also improved my confidence and willingness to learn through playing an integral role in the sound engineering for extracurricular music performances, despite being new to the industry.
