5. Provide excellent patient care and communication, supporting anxious, claustrophobic, and vulnerable patients.
6. Safely administer IV contrast agents in accordance with PGDs and Trust guidelines.
7. Optimise scan parameters to achieve diagnostic image quality while maintaining patient comfort.
8. Liaise effectively with radiologists, clinicians, nursing staff, and wider MDT.
9. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with Trust and departmental procedures.
10. Support service delivery during peak periods, weekends, nights, and short-notice shifts.
11. Contribute to a professional, safe, and efecient MRI environment at all times.

1. Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the MRI service, ensuring safe, efecient, and high-quality imaging delivery.
2. Maintain full compliance with MRI safety standards, local rules, MHRA, IR(ME)R, and Trust policies.
3. Act as MRI Safety Lead, including screening patients, staff, and visitors, and managing MRI incidents and near misses.
4. Perform and supervise a wide range of advanced MRI examinations, ensuring optimal image quality and patient care.
5. Provide clinical leadership and supervision to radiographers, assistant practitioners, and students.
6. Organise staff rotas, annual leave, and skill mix to maintain service continuity.
7. Lead training, competency assessment, and professional development for MRI staff.
8. Oversee protocol optimization, scanner performance, and quality assurance procedures.

9. Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
9. Manage contrast administration in line with PGDs and Trust guidelines.
10. Support service development, audit activity, and implementation of new MRI techniques.
11. Ensure high standards of patient experience, communication, and dignity at all times.

12. Oversee daily setup, operation, and shutdown of the mobile MRI unit.

13. Conduct pre-use equipment checks and ensure the scanner is functioning properly.

14. Coordinate unit logistics, including scheduling across multiple sites.

15. Liaise with site managers and hospital staff to ensure smooth service delivery.

16. Ensure compliance with transport regulations and equipment safety during relocation.

17. Enforce MRI safety policies in line with regulatory and professional standards.

18. Screen patients, staff, and visitors for contraindications (e.g., implants, pacemakers).

19. Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in often confined mobile environments.

20. Explain procedures clearly and obtain informed consent.

21. Monitor patients during scans and respond to emergencies appropriately.

22. Manage anxious, claustrophobic, or complex patients with professionalism.

23. Conduct routine quality assurance (QA) tests on MRI equipment.

24. Participate in clinical audits and service improvement initiatives.

25. Report incidents and near misses in accordance with governance procedures.

5. Provide clear explanations and reassurance to patients, including paediatric, elderly, and claustrophobic patients.
6. Administer contrast media safely under radiologist direction, following hospital policies and safety protocols.
7. Monitor patients during examinations and respond promptly to adverse reactions or emergencies.
8. Maintain accurate patient records, scan data, and documentation on RIS/PACS or hospital information systems.
9. Perform daily equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and report faults to service engineers.
10. Ensure infection control standards and maintain a clean, safe MRI environment.
11. Assist radiologists during specialised procedures when required.
12. Comply with NABH / hospital quality standards, radiation safety, and ethical guidelines.
13. Participate in audits, quality assurance activities, and continuous professional development.
14. Support training of junior radiographers, technicians, and students as required.

4. Operate MRI scanners efeciently, selecting and optimising protocols to achieve high-quality diagnostic images.
5. Provide clear explanations and reassurance to patients, including paediatric, elderly, and claustrophobic patients.
6. Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond promptly to medical emergencies.
7. Maintain accurate documentation and image records on RIS/PACS and hospital information systems.
8. Perform daily equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and coordinate with biomedical engineering and vendors for
servicing.
9. Adhere to infection control, health and safety, and patient confidentiality standards at all times.
10. Assist radiologists during specialised MRI procedures when required.
