Placement 1: Community based placement 

Skills gained: 

• Gained a thorough understanding of community physiotherapy services provided by the NHS
• Gained insight into the key role community therapy plays in facilitating patient discharge from hospital
• Developed and implemented fall prevention plans for the elderly population
• Gained detailed knowledge on equipment used to support ADLS
• Gained experience in completing holistic assessments for individuals struggling at home

Placement 2: MSK paediatrics placement for five weeks

Skills gained: 

• Improved communication skills with children of all ages
• Improved knowledge on common MSK paediatric conditions
• Developed diagnostic and patient care plan skills utilising patient education, exercise prescription and manual therapy techniques
• Improved time management skills due to fast paced environment in outpatients
• Developed skills for effective case note management

Placement 3: Community inpatients hospital 

Skills gained:

• Teamwork skills; working as part of a multi-discipline teams to provide the best patient outcomes
• Insight into the importance of intensive rehabilitation to improve patients a physical ability
• Practical skills to enable me to create D/C plan for patients
• Further developed my instinctive patient approach to build up trust with vulnerable, elderly patients

Placement 4: A&E FEAT Therapy Team 

Skills gained:

- Developed confidence in treating a wide  variety of respiratory conditions with an empathetic approach to patients 

- Became adept at case prioritisation working in a fast paced, busy environment 

- Developed team skills working with multi discipline teams for optimum patient outcomes 

- Improved knowledge on how to complete holistic assessments ,gaining valuable insight into dual competent roles (Physio and occupational therapy).
