As having experience in this sector or work already, I see this opportunity as a way to progress further and learn more, whilst climbing the ladder to success within the company. I am versatile in the way in which I can work so I believe that with my background and work ethic, a change in my working environment will cause no issues to quality or focus.
Due to low amounts of work coming in at the time and being self-employed at NWFD, I was welcomed back to CJK where I am back fitting kitchens and bedrooms, with the odd involvement in the building side of the extensions.
I also now have taken control of the social media as a side quest to try and increase awareness of the company.
After being approached by NWFD with an exciting opportunity, I opted to learn more about a booming industry of fire safety. I was training for the first few months, being overseen by the owner, Chris, before being trusted and left to my own devices and take jobs out alone. I believe I was a valued member of the team at NWFD and had a great reputation for my quality of work, work ethic, punctuality and professionalism. During my time there, I took on the responsibility of stock, job planning and assisting in the report making. I was also tasked with training up numerous member of new staff, and overseeing the completion of larger jobs.
After struggling to find work abroad after COVID, I opted for another aspect of joinery in doing kitchens. I really enjoyed my time fitting kitchens, whilst still tackling other aspects of building and joinery in the extensions side of things. Attention to detail is key in this job and I thrived being given the opportunity to prove myself.
During this time, I worked for numerous companies, mainly building up events or shows all over the world. I was involved in builds such as Paris Art Show, Masterpiece London and SpringFair to name a few. I am able to provide numerous references for work carried out during this period if needed.
After being contacted by someone Darren knew, I got offered a job at Full Circle Exhibitions in Salford. It was unlike anything I'd done before but as I have said, I adapt and learn quickly and was able to pick up the skills. Within 2 weeks I was asked to work away in South Wales on a job with a few other joiners, building up showcases for a museum that we had made in the workshop. I travelled to roughly 15 jobs during the time at Full Circle and by the end could quite easily be left alone to do work that any other joiner would have been asked to do, which I was very pleased with. In May 2018 Full Circle had to let go 60% of the joiners due to losing contracts with clients.
I took the job after I left CPM and learn a trade on site. I'd used my experience of bricklaying to help Darren build a conservatory into an orangery and then helped with the roof and interior, which is where I picked up the skills to do joinery. I did a bit of everything with Darren and really enjoyed the hands-on work. This lead to the passion for joinery.
When I first joined CPM, I was working on a campaign for Everton Football Club, which was a temporary 4-week job, but when that finished I was offered a job working for Peroni as an Account Manager. I quickly got used to the role and after my first review my quality check was at 100% which both myself and my manager were very pleased with. I had a call file of just over 500 accounts, which 90% must be contacted and a visit completed, ever quarter. After my first quarter, I hit all my KPI's. My targets were on quality, coverage, removals and pitching upgrades. I was sad to see the end of my time at CPM as I enjoyed the role and was doing very well. At the time there was 7 of us on the team for Peroni but as I understand they now only have 3.
I was labouring for a bricklayer after leaving Clearsky and had been helping in all aspects of building, from the smaller details of footings, to the physical side of building. Towards the end of my employment, I was also laying bricks and blocks.
I was working in a small team, overlooking and processing the accounts of pubs all over the country. I was using Excel and Sage daily and found it easy to come to terms with.
I started as a trainee, where I quickly learnt the ins and outs of the business as techniques used to sell. I excelled in the initial role within the first few months which is when I was pushed to becoming a team leader. I was given the opportunity to try and expand the company, from just solar panels to windows and doors. I did so on my own, and managed to grow my team to around 10 members within 2 months, where I set daily and weekly targets and managed to keep the team on track to organic growth during my time there.
In most of my previous roles, I have a lot of experience in dealing with customers and other businesses face to face I enjoy interacting with people daily and have no issues with adapting to different people and dealing with any problems
I've always been able to manage my time in a positive way I am able to work to time schedules which I believe are realistic and if I believe they are not realistic I will relay this in a polite manor to the relevant people to come to an achievable outcome
I enjoy working in a team, I have an all round positive attitude which I like to use to influence others and push to achieve more I'm also a good listener and would put myself forward to help solve others problems which they themselves are unable, or struggling to solve
Following on the the team building point, leading a team is something I've always been familiar with From early in life I was a natural leader in sporting teams, or exercises in the classroom at school I am a people person and have no issues with working with people, and getting the most of out each individual
I have never had issues with communication I try and relay everything I can in the most appropriate form possible Whilst communicating, I like to always keep the tone positive, to help with all situations
I always like to achieve what is expected of my early on, before looking to exceed expectation and take on tasks and responsibilities above and beyond what I'm paid for I see most tasks as a base to show my skill set, which will inevitably help me achieve more in the long run
