With limited professional experience, I am not without passion and enthusiasm for areas within my future career: business, sport science and game play. All of which will form part of my combined studies at Chichester University from September 2024.
Currently I am taking a gap year and seeking an opportunity to develop my interpersonal and organisational skills such as communication, time-management, problem-solving and critical thinking. Education has provided me with many opportunities to focus on these skills even so, I want to keep developing these skills while gaining new capabilities.
I am a naturally strategic and tactical thinker and I feel these skills align well to my choice of career although personally, and having studied BTEC Level 3 in Sport at All Hallows Sixth Form College in Farnham, I am specifically passionate about fitness and wellbeing. The course included modules such as Anatomy and Physiology, Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport and Wellbeing, Professional Development in the Sports Industry, Sports Psychology and Practical Sports Performance. Alongside studying these topics, I am personally aware of the psychological blockers which can impact confidence, motivation and performance. They can interfere with outcomes and interrupt the power required to commit to one's own wellbeing and fitness goals.
Consequently, I would like to focus my time within my gap year to work within an environment that pivots on self development. I would like to contribute and help support those individuals who either need their motivation bolstered or perhaps those who require encouragement to commit after they start.
Fitness, within a business environment, feels a very exciting place for me to become part of and learn from the established teams working there. I would welcome an opportunity at an entry level so that I may continue my own pathway in my interest for fitness, help others and transfer my professional development at work, to help excel in my the commitment required for my future studies.
