Principal Construction Engineer supporting the Dreadnaught build programme. Main responsibilities include;
- All of the below responsibilities in previous role.
- Responsible for the delegation of work to apprentices within the team. Ensuring knowledge is passed on and checking their output of work from an engineering quality perspective.
- Providing liaison to suppliers at various sites across the UK. Monthly site visits to provide Engineering support to ensure design intent is being met.
- Ensuring there is stakeholder involvement on all decisions.
- Assessing out of tolerance dimensional reports on main structure to determine any downstream impact to secondary structures/equipment/pipework/PED arrangements etc.

Structural Designer within the Modules – Structural Components Team on the Dreadnaught Submarine Programme. Main responsibilities include;
- Producing drawing sets for production and creating, editing and manipulating structure within the submarine model.
- Deriving change within the Lead Ballast Stowage's and Handling all change requests from production.
- Leading Projects where solutions are worked on ensuring every aspect of design is captured and having all stakeholders in agreement whilst working to a deadline to support build milestones.
- Overseeing the life cycle management of Lead Ballast BOM's using Teamcenter. Ensuring functional and spatial maturity of each BOM is in line with drawing and model statuses.

Structural Design apprenticeship in which the first year is spent at college learning basic workplace qualifications and Engineering skills such as TIG welding, working with lathes and drills, wiring electrical conduits and many more. The following two and a half years are spent in the design office carrying out 6 month placements on the different structural design teams. Each team provides you with an understanding of what they do allowing you to understand each teams role within the business and how they all link together. Once time complete you have an understanding of every teams purpose, I chose to go down the structural components route.
