A 4th generation steel worker with a deep commitment to safety, I bring over 7 years of experience in the steel industry. Starting at 16 as a laboratory apprentice at Tata Steel Port Talbot, I developed a strong foundation in laboratory techniques mainly metallurgical testing. This, coupled with a dedication to continuous learning through rotations and achieving Level 4 qualifications in Chemistry, equipped me for success in increasingly demanding roles.
As a Through Process Specialist, I championed leading improvement projects that generated significant cost savings. My current role as Arising Coordinator allows me to leverage my knowledge to mitigate the impact of poor quality, ensuring efficient production while prioritising safety.
I am currently pursuing a BEng in Materials Science and Engineering, further solidifying my technical expertise. Additionally, I'm passionate about fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment. This commitment is reflected in my role as Chairperson of Magnet UK, a young professionals network at Tata Steel, and as a committee member of the Richard Burton 10k charity as well as wellbeing officer at UWTSD.
