My career has had three distinct segments culminating in my move to England. I am an enthusiastic assistant principal just completing my first year at a large high school of approximately 1400 students. I have spent this year supporting the faculty and staff through academic administration functions. I have been extremely Motivated to improve relationships among faculty, students and other administrators, which is strength I am most proud of and have cultivated over the years previously as a building leader and teacher. I am very Personable and outgoing with skill in building rapport with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. The second and longest era of my career is that of a classroom history teacher while also being a department chair and building leadership team member. As a department chair my duties were to mentor, coach and develop new or struggling teachers. I have an extensive background in developing curriculum and defining quality instruction. As a Skilled history teacher with 27 years of experience, many of which have focused upon designing and implementing engaging and interactive lesson plans, facilitating discussions and providing individualised support to students. Utilises strong communication skills to build positive relationships with students and colleagues. Committed to promoting student achievement and growth. Finally, the first stage of my career was working in Yuma Arizona with a diverse student population at an alternative school with at risk students, where I developed the foundation for my entire career. If lessons are engaging behavior issues are minimal, and lessons should generate thought and discussion, for it is through discussion that relationships are forged. I believe that it is due to engaging lessons and positive relationships that I have been honoured and nominated by students for numerous local, state and national awards.
