My name is Joe Regan, I am an 18 year old and have just completed A-Levels and will be moving to the city of Liverpool in September to attend the university of Liverpool to study Economics. I am looking for for work not only to financially support myself through university, but to gain experience. The opportunity to be a match-day steward appeals to me greatly due to having a deep passion for football and also being aware of how important it is to ensure the wellbeing of fans at games, specifically focusing on creating a welcoming atmosphere for women and children to sustain the growth of the game in a safe, efficient manor, which is why I am highly interested in the role.
Being surrounded by football my whole life from playing, coaching and attending football matches as a Manchester city F.C season ticket holder, I am extremely familiar with the expected standard that stewards should uphold on match-days, further emphasised through the study of A-Level physical education where we learn why the safety of fans at football matches is vital and even methods on how to actively ensure safety and enjoyment at games, and prevent violence and anti-social behaviour. This leaves me with a deep passion for upholding the standard of the game which I would be able consistently achieve in the position of a match-day steward for Everton F.C.
