I am currently studying economics at Swansea University and thoroughly enjoy this, I have always been drawn to the world of economics after my Dad worked in Finance for most of his life. I picked it up when choosing my A-Levels. I enjoyed both the Macro and Micro sides of the course. With this and my love of problem-solving, I became fond of data analysis, research methods and financial modelling within the course. This has only been continued in my university degree. I have used communication, teamwork and technical skills along the way, which I believe will be extremely useful in whatever line of work I go into. The modules I have picked in my second year are diving into Finance, Problems and Decision Making within economics, Investments, Assets, Equities and Bonds. All these topic areas pique my interest extremely highly, but not just these areas as I have more modules coming up later in the year. I feel my strongest area is within the mathematical parts of economics. I have always really enjoyed working with numbers, data and showing this on graphs etc.
I have developed many useful skills over my time in education and outside of it in hobbies and jobs I have worked in the past I am a team player and strive when working with others This is a skill I developed during my time playing rugby from age 4-18 This has translated into the work I do in classrooms and in the jobs I have worked, where I have performed well when working with others I can be very independent as I can thrive working on my own I can also be a leader in situations where one is needed This has come from me being Deputy Head of Blundells School in my final year there, where I looked after the students who Were struggling and tried to guide them in the right direction My biggest skill would be my determination and my never-give-up attitude towards any situation I got this from when I dislocated my shoulder when I was 15 playing rugby, I had surgery and recovered but then proceeded to have another surgery recently to fix my shoulder Although this injury stopped me from playing the game, I grew up playing, and it was my dream, I never gave up on myself and what I could achieve
