Dedicated Carpenter with 5 years of experience in carpentry and construction. Dedicated to working individually and in small teams to complete construction projects. Outside of work I am apart of the Fishguard & Goodwick Rugby Team, currently play as a winger. I enjoy spending Saturday mornings running at Parkrun and taking my Golden retriever Winnie out on walks.
Alongside college I trained with Rodger James from Fishguard. As an apprentice with Rodger I developed many skills from woodwork, labouring, time management and professionalism. My time with Rodger gave me the experience in the work place that college couldn’t teach. Rodger taught me the importance of having a meticulous eye to detail, punctuality, independence and having a good sense of humour in the work place.
Bluestone Builders was my first job as a fully qualified carpenter, while working at Bluestone my confidence as a working individual developed as well as my social and communication skills. I also had two apprentices work under me here, as newly qualified I found this challenging to show/train other individuals with my small experience but found it rewarding when seeing others learn from myself and passed on my own skills and knowledge.
At Bluestone I gained more independent experience with my carpentry skills, such as;
I have currently been working locally doing carpentry work ’hobbles’ which mainly includes skimming, fitting kitchens, doors, plasterboard, skirting and flooring. I’ve also had experience working with other carpenters doing rubber roofs, felt and battening, facia boarding and slating.
