I was honoured to be voted as the Chair of Friends of Rosebank, a registered charity that raises funds and organizes events to support the school; I really enjoy doing this as I am able to give back to the community but also allows me to build relationships with other SEN parents
I believe my experience and passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) make me an ideal candidate for this role. I have had the privilege of working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs for the past two and a half years, as well as students with a variety of other additional needs. This experience has helped me to develop exceptional skills in supporting pupils to overcome barriers and thrive in a school environment with a nurturing, therapeutic approach.
In my current role, I primarily support individual pupils with differing SEN needs. I endeavour, to always meet each of the pupil’s individual needs and equip them with the tools and strategies to succeed. Additionally, I deliver interventions to support a range of key stage 2 pupils, helping to address their academic, social development and sensory needs. I am committed to creating an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and happy in their learning journey and beyond all flourish.
I am confident that my experience, along with my enthusiasm for supporting students’ growth and well-being, would allow me to contribute positively to your team. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how I can support the aims of your school and assist in providing a nurturing, inclusive learning environment where children thrive.
Alongside my professional background, I have a personal connection to SEN. Two of my siblings have ASC and ADHD. In addition, my son Toby who once attended a mainstream school now attends a SEN school. Toby has ASC, ADHD, and DCD needs. He also faces SEMH difficulties and is now in his third year at Rosebank School, a wonderful SEN setting supporting students with Autism. This has given me first-hand insight as a mum into the uniqueness of children with SEN and how children with SEN can thrive in the right environment with the right provision.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Upton Heath and have gained valuable experience. However, I have always been deeply passionate about working in a SEN setting. I feel that my skills, patience, and understanding make me well-suited to working in this type of setting. The rewarding experience of helping children overcome challenges and reach their full potential is something that truly inspires me.
I am eager to transition into a SEN setting where I can directly contribute to the development of children with SEN. I feel confident that I can offer the empathy, dedication, and tailored support that these children need, and I am excited about the opportunity to work in an environment where every day presents a chance to make a meaningful difference in their lives.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of contributing to your team and further supporting students at your school.
