Over the last ten years, I feel I have grown significantly not only as a teacher, but as a person overall and therefore I am ready to take a new career path which will allow me to continue to grow and gain new experiences. I have been at Phoenix House and Sevenhills for two years now teaching a range of different age groups and pathways. During this time, I have enjoyed working with more experienced colleagues, which has enabled me to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed as a primary and secondary school teacher. I have been responsible for developing stimulating and challenging learning environments which secure effective learning and provide high standards of achievement, behaviour and discipline. Alongside lots of in-house training from dedicated senior leadership teams, I have attended training in Manchester and had significant involvement in introducing new initiatives in the work place. In both cases I have delivered training to staff and have enjoyed the responsibility. For most of my time at Sevenhills, I have been SEND lead. A role in which I loved and believed I did to the best of my ability at the time. Throughout this time, I have been the first port of call to staff to aid with any SEND queries and give suggestions to help staff meet the needs of the students. I attended meetings to discuss our most vulnerable students and give ideas on how we can work together to ensure they succeed- As part of the Leadership team, It was vital that I contributed to the Academy’s organisation and overall strategy of the Academy through Leadership and Senior Management team meetings.
Over the past two years, I believe I have played a crucial part in the development and improvement of our academy, by bringing my vast experience and knowledge to team meetings, professional conversations with SLT and delivering valuable CPD to staff. I have worked collaboratively with other teachers to review data and develop instructional strategies to address student learning objectives.
Aside from being fullfilling and exceeding all the expectations and duties of a classroom teacher, during my time at LaceyField I was Computing lead. This role has seen me deliver training to staff, create and collect data from staff and pupil questionnaires, lead E-safety days, deliver assemblies, create and be responsible for a group of Computing ambassadors. Part of my role has allowed me to create a curriculum and long term plans to aid teacher planning and provide quality first teaching. I have also conducted lessons observations and learning walks along with regular conversations with staff to ensure they are comfortable in teaching Computing and how we may be able to improve as a school, which shows I have successful experience of co-ordinating a subject across the primary range.

Due to the positive relationships I create with all children, it allows me to gain the children’s respect easily. On many occasions I was the first point of call for other members of staff around the school, should they need support with challenging behaviour. Numicon Intervention leader - I participated in relevant and appropriate training and development. As for this role, I attended a two-day training course in Manchester, before delivering training to staff within two schools across the federation, showing I have experience and knowledge of leading INSET for staff. I completed a diagnostic test across the school before grouping the children. Due to this being something new into school, I was the point of call and the person to oversee Teacher/TAs that are delivering the interventions. This shows that I am able to monitor and develop effective intervention to ensure good learning and pupil progress.

During my time at Sports Direct, I fulfilled a number of roles, from the shop floor to the stock rooms. My main role was helping customers choose correct footwear. I would assist customers in locating specific items to boost satisfaction. I listened to customer needs and preferences to provide targeted advice, increasing sales opportunities. I had extra motivation through a commission based scheme where I would sell extra items that come with shoes, such as insoles. During my time, I was the highest selling individual in the Grimsby branch and often made the Sports Direct newsletter for my achievements. Although selling was a huge strength of mine, I had lots of situations where I had to resolve customer complaints and process issues with proactive problem-solving skills. I operated cash registers with accuracy and processed cash and card transactions. I was part of stock taking and setting up new stores throughout the country.

During my time at Youngs, I had a number of different roles and worked in different parts of the factory, from process, frozen and wet food. I began as a production operative but soon progress into a machine operative, that would be responsible for cleaning and maintaining machines. I would also have to change reels and ensure new packaging was applied safely, correctly and efficiently, to ensure a smooth transition between products. If the machine would break down, I would be the first point of call to fix it and ensure as little time as possible is lost to production. If it was something I could not fix, I would ensure I used effective communication skills and call for expert advice - This allowed me to learn from other experienced professionals. As a production operative, I kept clean working areas for safe, productive warehouse environments.

During my time at the golf club, I had a number of roles and responsibilities. These included; dealing with cash and card transactions, offering expert advice to fellow golfers, maintaining knowledge of products and features to provide recommendations to customers, demonstrated excellent customers service, fix and regrip golf clubs whilst also driving a buggy to transport customers to different parts of the course. I conducted stock checks, faced-up shelves and recorded out-of-stock items to fulfil customer demand. I updated product labelling and pricing to reflect discounts and offers. Monitored display stock levels, replenishing for consistently well-stocked sales floor. Organised displays to promote inventory and encourage customer purchases. Tagged products quickly and accurately with price tags and stickers.
