A highly skilled professional with extensive experience in Mental Health. Working as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, Assistant Psychologist, Research Assistant, lived experience and caring for a parent, has provided me with experience of working with people with mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, emotionally unstable personality disorder, bipolar, schizophrenia and psychosis.
Experienced in working with patients who have experienced suicidal thoughts, attempted to end their lives and actively self-harm. Able to remain calm and ensure the correct support is given following distressing disclosures. Lived experience gives me a great understanding and a large degree of empathy when working with distressed participants. Skilled at working with patients on secure inpatient wards, in the community as part of the Early Intervention Service and Talking Therapies, and in the Prison service.
Career goals include further enhancing knowledge and experience in Mental Health and undertaking a PhD that contributes to patient care excellence in forensic settings.
