Member of the paint department at Darlington engine plant on the shop floor. In my 7 years a Cummins i have gained a number of skills which enable me to work at a number of different stations within paint. Some duties included working at drop off with a small team of 3|4 ensuring the engine has been secured onto a shipment pallet and all relevant paperwork is attached. I also have extensive experience with bagging boundary audit on drop off and regularly train existing staff as well as new starters on this station. Whilst working on boundary audit I am in regular contact with back dock audit and comp audit to ensure all checks have been thoroughly taken to ensure each engine is complete before shipped to the customer. I am also a paint technician regularly working in the paint booth spraying engines and being very familiar with the company paint standards we must adhere to in order for the product to pass audit. Other stations I am qualified to operate with in pain is the fitment of flywheels, alternators and starter motors as well as working in the kitting area team 70.I have also gained skills on another department pre paint and occasionally cover low head count with in that department when required. I also work on a forklift truck I am also currently a Unite Union shop steward for the paint area.
First support to department management overseeing a team of 9 staff. Duties include daily, weekly, monthly reports on team and individuals, reporting results into higher management which are then presented to the company exec team. Coach and develop members of the team carrying out regular quality checks of performance. Conduct monthly 121s with team members setting objectives and targets. Also conduct annual personal development reviews along with management on each team member. Attend numerous management level meetings inputting knowledge and ideas to improve department performance to increase company NPS score.
