INTERESTS

I love my family and people from all backgrounds and thrive on walking life with them. In addition, I enjoy driving vehicles of all kinds, fishing, watching sports, walking, car mechanics and watching films with family and friends. I like camping and being outdoors. In the past I ran 2 half marathons to raise funds for Birmingham Children's Hospital. I like spending time with family, friends, or colleagues over a meal/coffee. I also enjoy meeting and connecting with people from all walks of life and discovering their ‘why’. I also enjoy teaching others new skills and enabling them to become the best they can be.

Accomplishments

  • June 2024 become Adult Safeguarding leads for Oasis church Birmingham in a voluntary capacity and have led the team since then.
  • April 2025 trained to become the company trainer alongside my driving role
  • In Sept 2023, trained as a transporter driver with pickup and trailer, eventually training for my C!E license to drive 7.2 ton transporter with a trailer in Oct 2024.
  • In May 2023 was asked by one of the company directors to lead a team of agency worker drivers for a month. Involved planning the days for each day including where to refuel/charge vehicles, where to collect each driver and take to next collection. Completing all their inspections/handovers.
  • Career change in 2022 due to redundancy as a car inspector/delivery driver.
  • In 2013 and 2018 successfully restructured our project as a service due to external changes in funding, creating increased successful outcomes for clients graduating the addictions recovery program while also reducing costs.
  • 2012 took on Business Manager post for one year in addition to my Service Manager role due to them taking long term sick leave. This led to being offered the combined role going forward.
  • I have successfully managed and developed staff in the following roles: support, finance, fundraising and redevelopment.
  • I have established three and managed four successful supported housing projects in the last 20 years.
  • Over 26 years’ experience of working with clients, families and professionals relating to the clients, increasing the positive reputation of our project and giving excellent customer service.
  • Rehoused 2-3 successful addiction recovery clients per year into their own independent accommodation as well as employment.
  • Assisted clients in setting up their own business.
  • Engaged around 90% of addiction clients in education and/or work placements.
  • Created and established a successful fundraising team with the new fundraiser.
  • In 2008 I set up an addictions support service from the ground up that run successfully for nearly 14 years.
