  • As classroom teacher, having to plan, resource and assess lessons in range of subjects each day. Need to be able to think on feet and adapt lessons quickly, should need arise so that children can learn to best of their ability. Also needed to adapt teaching and behaviour management to cater for range of social, emotional and behavioural needs. In addition, have to lead teaching assistant to be able to support certain children as well as whole class.
  • As subject leader, have had to adapt curriculum to ensure subjects are broad and balanced in their content. Led others, helping them to teach subjects that they may be less confident with. Have had ‘deep dive’ with Ofsted, having to speak about and explain how subject is taught.
  • Also covered lessons across primary age range – from EYFS to Y6, having to quickly pick up and understand planning of other teachers and adapting to age and ability of pupils.
