After returning from Cyprus I once again took up the position as a consultant for Business Development at The Valley Group (Retail Marketing Company) continuing the work previously undertaken in my first period consulting for the company.
I also took on another consultancy with Pure Hydration a water purification company whom I had met with the Owner/Founder who wanted to develop his products to service various sports industry categories such as Golf Clubs, Sports Clubs and other venues where good, safe hydration was a key requirement of the club members taking part in the various sporting activities.
As a result we developed a number of hydration machines that could fulfill the various requirements of outdoor stations for golf courses and tennis/paddle clubs, plus indoor machines for gyms, health clubs, Spa's etc.
The company has now secured contracts with multiple golf clubs and other sporting clubs and venues providing safe, pure filtered drinking water via their bespoke hydration stations across various platforms.
Moved to Cyprus in October 2015 having purchased a Bar & Restaurant which my wife and I completely renovated and turned it into a highly successful venue with a Trip Advisor rating of number 2 restaurant out of 145 listed in the resort within the first season, remaining at that rating for the remainder of the time we were there.
Sold the restaurant in December 2018 and returned to the UK due to our daughter being diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis).
However, the experience enhanced our customer service and hospitality skills to the highest degree during the time there.
As a freelance consultant for Business Development at The Valley Group (Retail Marketing Company) then due to my vast experience and connections within the Sports Industry I was tasked to target multiple brands to position Valley as the go to company for all things display for sports brands to support & promote their products in line with brand strategy in either their own dedicated stores or their retail partners.
Successfully developed strong working business relationships with adidas, Nike, Puma, Reebok, TaylorMade, Callaway, Under Armour, ASICS, Cobra Puma Golf, Galvin Green, JD Sports, Sports Direct, JJB Sports (prior to closure) plus a number of other companies and brands as an off-shoot of working with the above.
By onboarding these clients then took the yearly turnover to over £1million after year two, and then peaked at £1.4million by year four before leaving at the end of year five to pursue our dream of owning a Bar/Restaurant abroad.
After qualifying as a Sports Coach in numerous sports then I first took a position at Glossop Leisure Centre in Derbyshire where I coached varying sports from June 82 through to May 83, this was followed by a summer season in the USA coaching football and when I returned from the US I secured the position of Sports Manager at The Tyherington Club, a newly opened Golf & Country Club in Cheshire.
After meeting the MD of Le Coq Sportif who was a member at the club he offered my a job as North West Sales Representative which I took up in March 1985
