  • I was responsible for 24 branches across the South West & South coast with 24 direct reports and 70 indirect reports.
  • I spent the majority of my time in the branch network, coaching and developing my team.
  • With a key focus on KPIs including sales and commercial margin, customer growth and attrition management, daily order intake and EBIT.
  • Deployed promotional campaigns to complement regional initiatives.
  • Drove company mission and values, representing organisation at meetings and industry events.
  • Drafted periodic reports to inform upper management on KPIs and operational issues.
  • Assisted with employee relations issues, using emotional intelligence and diplomatic communication to resolve grievances.
  • Implemented change management and network restructuring strategies to address under performing areas.

  • My first key task was to integrate a recent acquisition of a 5 branch Electrical Wholesaler into the Denmans network, supporting process and culture change.
  • This was a great introduction into people management and developing my emotional intelligence.
  • I was also responsible for the top 10 customers in the region.

  • After a successful period of branch management I took the opportunity to be involved in an IT project, with a view to integrate a new operating platform into the business.
  • This gave me an expanded view of the business and also helped me understand other branch manager views.
  • Working remotely, I developed and maintained comprehensive project documentation, aligning with business objectives.
  • Collaborated with stakeholders in Rexel & Denmans to define project scope, objectives and deliverables.

  • My first branch manager role within the business, I took on a branch that was in a loss making position.
  • After 3 months I had managed to improve the sales line and reduce customer attrition.
  • I was responsible for 5 staff, growing the sales, margin and EBIT performance of the branch.
  • During the time as branch Manager I managed to grow the branch from an annual turnover of £300k to £1.2m.
  • Identified market demands and consumer trends to increase customer base and retention rates.
