John Nicholas (Nick) Stennett

Peebles,Scottish Borders

Summary

I am a newly qualified driver.
However, I would like to draw your attention to my previous experience within the industry.
From 1996 to 2010 I worked as a semi skilled truck and trailer mechanic working for companies such as TIP, Iveco, John Britton mobile repairs and Warren Trailers undertaking all repairs and MOT preparation.
These jobs necessitated quite a large amount of shunting and bringing trailers into the various garages for repair.
From 2006 to 2010 I was the mobile fitter for Warren Trailers.
My duties included breakdowns, but the bulk of my work involved travelling to various sites and RDC's, Asda, Next, Tesco, DFS, Brian Yeardleys and Rainham Steel to name a few, travelling round the site to pick up the trailers for service or repair and bring them back to my allocated work space using shunters or Terbergs. So even though I am a newly qualified driver I have 15 years experience shunting and driving around various sites and RDC's.
From 2010, when I moved to Scotland, I have been employed as a professional driver, driving taxis within Peebles. From 2012 I purchased my own company and was driver and operator until 2020 with the onset of Covid I had to take to decision to close the company. Driving around the local area with my name and number on the side of my vehicle has taught me a lot about dealing with the general public in a positive and non aggressive manner. I've had to deal with customer complaints face to face, insurance and insurance claims and legal matters with the local licensing board the police and various insurance companies, as well as dealing with the day to day running of the company, various accounts, advertising etc.
From June 2023 I have been employed as a tyre fitter for a local garage, a physically demanding job so my health is quite good and I'm used to physical work.
