• Prepares Work Inspection Request (WIR) for any completed works to be inspected by QA/QC Engineer and Client Representative.
• In order to prevent issuance of non-conformance, I conduct regular site inspection making sure that all drawings are in the IFC category, materials/equipment are QA/QC- client inspected/approved, test instruments are calibrated with valid calibration certificate and sticker, and manpower are certified prior to commencement of work.
• Participate during Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) of Electrical/Mechanical equipment alongside QA/QC Engineer, Vendor, and Client Representative.
• Ensure that all MEP installation works of subcontractors, vendors comply with local and international codes and standards (NEC, BS, UL, IEC, IIEE, ANSI, NFPA, NETA etc.).
• Prepare Punch List items and oversee timely completion of close-out punch list.

As part of a group of Construction Engineers, I was in-charge with monitoring and supervising the Subcon Electrical installations and testing (Switchgear Panel, MCC Panels, Fire Alarm System, AC Motors, Variable Frequency Drives, Power Transformer, PF Panel, Grounding and Lightning Protection installations) at Four (4) Booster Pump Station including reporting the regular progress and performance of Subcontractors, and monitoring compliance to agreed scope and timeframe as per their respective contracts. The following includes my typical duties:
• Monitoring and reporting the regular project progress and performance of all Subcontractors and monitoring compliance to agreed scope and deliverables under their respective contracts with ANC.
• Identification of Long Lead Items (LLIs) such as Power Transformer, MCC Panel, DB Panel, Variable Speed Drives, Earthing, Lightings, power cables and wires and initiate the procurement for these items to meet Project Schedule and milestones.
• Raises Request for Information (RFI) to Engineering/Client regarding design drawings, specifications to suit actual site conditions.
• Ensure all construction procedures, Method Statements and Inspection Test Procedures (ITPs) are issued as final approved before work commencement.
• Identify possible clash points with other discipline and discuss together alternative solutions.
• Attend daily toolbox meeting along with Engineers, Foreman, Direct Workers, HSSE Officers and Subcontractors to discuss site issues, health and safety concerns.
• Arrange Permit to Work (PTW) per trade and have it approved by Client prior to construction activities.
• Raises Request for Inspection (RFI) for every work item completed subject for inspection by QA/QC Engineer and Client Representative (GMMRUA).
• In case of Non-conformance Report (NCR) from QC or Client, it was my duty to close the narrative issues, quality problems and observation on site as reflected on the report before raising another re-inspection.
• Checking the vendor/supplier Delivery Receipt (DR), Mill Certificate and other technical data sheets and other vital documents for materials and equipment delivered at site ensuring compliance with purchase order agreement.
