  • Developed the business case on behalf of the HSBC UK EXCO and led the 350+ multidisciplinary team as the Programme Director of the four-year, $80 million+ programme to migrate 33,000 colleagues from legacy staff channels to a cloud-based global strategic platform.
  • Supported cross lines of business from branch networks, call centres, global service centres, back-office functions, and all brands across retail and wholesale banking.
  • The team was located in several geographically diverse locations, testing both cross-cultural integration and technological interoperability.
  • Adopted and refined AI tooling in order to radically increase delivery cadence, whilst increasing the depth and breadth of detailed analysis, and other contingent change implementation tasks.
  • Delivered an operationally resilient application onto a commercial cloud platform that provides all regional entities with a dynamic servicing application, free from legacy risk and outdated technologies, whilst being significantly cheaper to update for new product launches.

  • Wider role was as Chief of Staff to the Global Operations CIO, and provide the oversight, control and delivery cadence required to support Global Operations in the delivery of the agreed benefits profile.

  • This identified and exploited synergies and developmental benefits and led to reductions of headcount by 25% and the associated budget.

  • Developed and delivered a national influence and outreach strategy that built lasting, mutually beneficial relationships across myriad business sectors, which in turn brought business innovation and change skills into the organisation.
  • Influenced Stakeholders across UK Rugby (Premiership, RFU, SRU) building close working relationships to develop recruitment, leadership, team cohesion and marketing opportunities.
  • First in the Navy to develop an ethnic and female specific engagement strategy for recruitment opportunities following set targets required by HM Government.

  • Managed a transformation programme to bring £16.5Bn of future programmes into a single portfolio under P3M structures. Improved programme affordability overall cost reduction of £120M.
  • Managed an in-year opportunity programme across Naval Service, bringing forward £55M of future budget into current year, thus creating flexibility for unplanned strategic uncertainties.
  • Developed, and delivered a £50M programme to refurbish the protected mobility vehicle fleet.

  • Responsible for the operational delivery of a multinational headquarters tasked with delivering training resources across Afghanistan during a period of significant surge in Afghan Security Force numbers.
  • Conducted key stakeholder engagement at Ministerial and senior Coalition levels in order to coordinate international support for training delivery strategy.
  • Personally delivered a fully operational HQ of 18 contributing nations able to train 26,000 Afghan Army recruits daily.
  • Managed 28 direct reports and 134 indirectly.
  • Re-aligned a national training strategy to closely integrate Afghan input thus advancing coalition preparations for early transition out of theatre.
  • Devised and delivered a joint Afghan/Coalition partnership where peer group officers worked alongside their Afghan counterparts, closing the capability gaps and fostering real friendship.
  • Awarded US Meritorious Service Medal.

  • Responsible for coordination and delivery of all resources across an annual programme of 350 competing courses.
  • Senior staff officer charged with developing Ethos, Values and Standards training.
  • Developed the Values Based Leadership model still employed in the Commando Training Centre today that successfully connects 2000+ personnel to common shared beliefs and values underpinning excellence and professionalism enabling greater training success.

Lead Strategic Planner

  • Responsible for the strategic manning of operations involving Royal Marines, and Navy personnel.
  • Oversaw the large scale initial deployment of Royal Navy manpower into Afghanistan.
  • Overcame significant internal resistance to deploy over 500 naval personnel into a land operational theatre.
  • Awarded MBE on completion of this role for work conducted in support of the operational theatres oif both Iraq and Afghanistan.
