Started work and completed a 5 yr apprenticeship in plumbing. Continued to gain experience and proceeded to gain domestic gas Corgi qualification (now Gas Safe). I spent several years in the field carrying out all aspects of plumbing, drainage, gas maintenance and also carried out bathroom refurbishment work including tiling. I also installed complete new central heating systems. I was offered and accepted the job of foreman / manager in 1994. I continued to work on the tools but split my time meeting customers and quoting for work. This helped develop my people skills. In 2004 a work colleague and myself purchased the business we worked for.
