I was employed at Footsteps to open a new nursery this nursery never opened no fault of mine, so I stayed at the nursery in Chalfont St. Peter’s and helped with planning, cooking, the online journal system, opening and closing and any other duties I was required to carry out.
I then helped to set up and open a nursery in Aylesbury recruiting, marketing, cooking, visits at the nursery and other tasks to set up the nursery.
While working at Footsteps I gained my Designated safeguarding Lead certificate.
I am now still at Footsteps Day nursery as the manager in Chalfont ST Peter and in this role, I am now dealing with the day-to-day management of a 64-place setting.
I manage cohort tracking and do 6 weekly supervisions to make sure staff are meeting their planning, next steps and any concerns they may have.
I carry out tours around the nursery.
I deal with any safeguarding concerns reporting to appropriate agencies including First Response.
And attending any strategy meeting, Child in need meeting and child protection meetings which I have had to do in my role in person and via Teams.
