Joel Edwards

I am passionate about innovation and design. This is because innovation and design allows people to bring something completely new to the world. Personally I don’t want to look at elements in the present day and stay static, but rather I want to look at how they can be changed in the future to enhance the lives of people and the environment. I am currently studying at the University of Ulster my course: BSc Hons Degree in Architectural Technology. My first year of study allowed me to use my knowledge and innovative design skills. I was tasked with designing a semi-detached dwelling. Using various software’s allowed me to explain my design idea. Software used included; AutoCAD, Revit, Formit and Sketchup. In my second year of study, I used my project management skills in designing a Passive House Primary school. This assignment presented itself as a challenge. A new progressive design challenge using my own innovative ideas in a new way. This has captivated my imagination concerning the possibilities of design innovation in partnership with new ways of thinking and working. I am currently in my final year of study were I am tasked with creating a mixed used apartment building.
