To summarise i'm a fast learner, eager to learn any skills necessary to ensure the job is done correctly and in a timely manner while maintaining safety of myself, my colleagues and company reputation. I am also available to work immediately if no training is applicable.
In this role operators would collect parcels from 8 fully packed trailers in one of the only person handled belt in eastern Scotland which was fast paced and cautious environment as we took care to handle packages carefully to ensure no damage and correct place for apt delivery with drivers and had to remain vigilant on symbols incase of materials that may be flammable or toxic so that correct handling and safety procedures were followed, for example wearing a hi-vis jacket, safety gloves and being banks-man for drivers within assigned postcode areas for that day.
In my short time at Amazon as a temp i picked orders accurately, reducing instances of return or exchange, i scanned, sorted and diverted packages in order to carry out packing responsibilities in line with accuracy targets. Secured pallets and cages from drivers after loading vans.
Working at Mcdonald's taught me how to work at a very fast pace even during very stressful busy periods. While working there i worked a handful of positions every shift which let me develop a multitude of customer service skills and pushed me to use my initiative when either approached from other staff members or customers. This position also taught me a vast knowledge of health and safety rules for FOH, kitchen and during delivery intake navigating full cages around moving vehicles.
As a customer service assistant i served customers on the till, prepared hot food, faced up the store, dealt with customer inquiries, helped with opening and closing of the store and handling of important goods such as bagging the tills, counting up the scratch cards and marking newspapers correctly for returns. I feel this position helped me with general conversation, connecting with people and being a good listener.
