For a month, I rotated through the procurement, accounts, and business planning departments. This gave me a comprehensive understanding of how the NHS operates behind the scenes and gave me a greater understanding of what industry I want to start my career in.

• Procurement - I spent time within the different sections to see the full range of procurement, from how supplies are ordered to how prices are negotiated.
• Accounts - During my time, I worked with the management accounts team, seeing how they produce forecasts, income statements and budgets.
• Business Planning - I experienced how decisions were made on whether or not proposed investments should be approved, using revenue and cost-saving forecasts.

• Helped coordinate incoming deliveries, sorting and distributing stock based on immediate requirements.
• Stocked and faced-up shelves to create eye-catching displays and present merchandise effectively.
• Organised stock based on rotation requirements and expected use.
• Used automated and hand-operated scanners to maintain comprehensive product inventories.
