I am a fiercely ambitious and determined person, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and am equally inspired by working independently or as part of a team I thrive in demanding environments, whether social or business and believe strongly in learning from every experience. I am currently studying A levels consisting of Business, Geography and PE at Millfield School.
Working on weekends and school holidays in this unique bookmakers has given me an opportunity to deal with Betfair Exchange and has allowed me to understand how odds fluctuate based on supply and demand.
It also has assisted in understanding familiarisation on the movement of odds and interpreting what these changes are due to. While working, it has provided me with personable and professional skill sets when speaking to clients which I feel can be transferred into most working environments.
Has allowed me to further develop communication skills, improve sales techniques and to persuade customers to make purchases, and promote special offers, enhancing my ability to sell in a competitive environment.
Shadowing on a brokerage desk has given me a unique opportunity to gain exposure in a very high paced world of financial markets. It has improved my understanding on markets I shadowed such as bonds, commodities and currencies and factors which influence market movement.
Shadowing an Insurance broker at Tysers meant participating in client meetings and social events, taking regular trips to Lloyd's of London to partnership with underwriters which provided me with the skillset to build, manage and develop relationships which will be required in any future Insurance career. It was here I discovered a passion and interest for the Insurance industry.
I recently ran the Bath Half marathon in March 2024 with four other boys in my boarding house which required waking up before school to stick to our strict plan to beat our goal of 1 hour 50 minutes. In the journey of this we managed to raise just under £6000 for Macmillan Cancer Research.
I am an avid cricketer who trains and plays constantly throughout the year and have played for my County (Essex) for 7 years. I also play for Millfield Meyers First XI who regularly compete against top universities and play for Five and Heronians First XI in the Essex Premier Division. While playing cricket I achieved a Jack Petchey award for my club which recognises key performances and to celebrate the performance, grants the club funding.
I am an avid golfer who fits in rounds when I can and play off a handicap of 10.1 and am a member of Thorndon Park Golf Club.
