  • The role involves working as part of a busy team where speed of service and customer satisfaction is paramount to the success of the pub.
  • I worked as a member of the kitchen management team for most of my time here (5+ years), taking an interim kitchen manager role when required.
  • Over my 8 year period I've headed all aspects of the job such as placing call-outs on faulty equipment, logging contractors in and out, ordering stock and non consumables and acknowledging deliveries on the system, managing and implementing stock control measures, staff rotas, approving and logging employee holidays and sickness, managing employee absence frequency as well as actively co-ordinating the team whilst on shift.
  • In this role I learned the ability to communicate effectively and organise the team by having the right people in the right places to ensure the best work flow possible.
  • I can also work effectively by myself as was required when doing my admin jobs in the office and overnight shifts during the busier summer periods.
  • I was often the one tasked with training new starters with no prior experience and can demonstrate patience and apply different training methods to suit another persons way of learning better.
  • During my training I became confident in managing health and safety including removing damaged and ordering new PPE, safe storage and use of chemicals, various manual handling SOPs and safety when working at heights along with proper food storage and preparation.

  • In this role I volunteered every Saturday working in a 3.68 acre woods and the surrounding community near where I live.
  • Here we would manage the health of the woods and rivers by removing debris and dead trees and planting new trees to clean and improve the environment and town.
  • We would sometimes get requests from the council or other locals groups to work further afield planting entire new hedge rows or grove of trees.
