Passionate about engineering and striving for success in whatever I do, I am always looking to learn new things and take on board new skills in order to improve.   • Delivering NPI projects and engineering changes for OEM customers into production on time and in budget hitting key prototype build dates.
  • Focused on delivering process improvements for OEM customer, largely through highlighting manual MIG weld processes to be transferred to Fanuc robotic MIG cell.
  • Creation of detailed project plans (MS project) and communicating updates with the customer and key internal stakeholders to deliver engineering changes.
  • Led root cause analysis to establish production issues and identify prevention methods.

During my time at Jenks I greatly expanded my skill set and gained some really great experience, working on cradle to grave NPI projects I gained valuable experience of Project management, liaising with suppliers and customers and tier 1 automotive standards and processes.

  • Following the completion of my level 3 apprenticeship I assumed the role of junior manufacturing engineer. In this role I continued to successfully manage and deliver engineering changes for all Jaguar Land Rover projects, cradle to grave and deliver them on time and in budget. Whilst also completing my HNC in engineering and NVQ level 4.
  • Established and coordinated sub-contracting and outsourcing requirements for machining and processes to overcome in-house production issues as the on site facilities have been reduced.

Following leaving sixth form I spent 3 years completing an apprenticeship with GKN wheels and structures in project engineering, focusing on automotive structures and in particular projects for Jaguar Landrover. During this time working as a project apprentice in the NPI department I was focused delivering engineering changes and introducing new components to production including steel and aluminium pressings, assembly and welding processes. This was a customer facing engineering role which involved a wide range of both customer and supplier interaction.

A large portion of this role was based around generating, updating and delivering a wide array of engineering documentation necessary for the PPAP and new product introduction processes including:

  • Generating PFMEA's and production control plans
  • Delivering PPAP's, PSW's and generating PPAP documentation
  • Completing APQP's and timing plans for projects
  • Formulating SOP's and work instructions
  • Using LEAN manufacturing techniques to deliver new process flow routes
