Randstad is an agency company I currently work for doing support work assisting vulnerable individuals typically at their own home or residental services , Providing physical and emotional support.

This role varies and you work with a range of ages from babies to elderly and all health/life condition.

so far I've worked with families assisting with their children keeping them engaged throughout the day , supporting mum with baths , dinners and diaper changes of course.

I've also worked with young teens not much younger than my self that are living by themselves needing support to keep them on the right path.

At the moment I've been mostly working in Inverness supporting a vulnerable young teen who has Autism , LD and a few other things that can impact his daily living. I provide companionship and try and help achieve independence. And minimise outbursts as much as possible as this is very common with Autism/ADHD etc.

This is achieved by simply by keeping the individual engaged in whatever they may enjoy and by creating a safe space for them to be themselves and speak freely.

working within Newcross I was doing agency work filling in understaffed companies such as the Salvation Army in two locations. Colinton and ferry road in Edinburgh.

the Salvation Army is a charity funded residential care home mostly occupied with individuals with dementia of all ranges.

This was a role I was grateful for as I was surrounded with many different people from different walks of life such as scientists , Army generals and majors.

it was a absolute pleasure working within the Salvation Army I have many good memories from the short time I helped out there and built amazing relationships with all residents and staff.

During this time at cera I was a care assistant helping vulnerable individuals of all ages and challenges. Making their life as independent as possible from their very own home. This included personal care such as catheters , stoma bags , showering and assisting with getting dressed. Medication administration , meal preparation and transfers with machinery such as hoist’s , Sara steadys , Sam turners and many more.

During this experience at call in home care I was a home care assistant where I was providing high quality care for vulnerable/disabled service users going from home to home trying to make their life as independent as possible.

This included helping with many daily required tasks such as bathing , getting dressed , meal preparation and administering medication and building trusting relationships.

During my time in Pinocchios nursery i was been working towards becoming a qualified practitioner with children ranging from the ages of 6 months old to 6 years old. Teaching them how to read, write, count and even learning their very first steps. promoting positive learning and relationships , something I really enjoyed.

During this experience at Paterson sa I was an apprentice hairdresser so I was learning how to cut and colour hair, also gained reception experience booking In appointments and been on the telephone so I’ve learned exceptional customer service skills throughout these years but also learned a lot about myself.
