A driven and caring aspiring primary school teacher, I'm looking for a classroom assistant position to gain real-world experience before beginning a PGCE in 2026. I have a strong desire to foster the early development of young children and contribute to the establishment of a classroom atmosphere that is inclusive, stimulating, and nurturing. I am eager to support students' learning and well-being by helping with teaching, promoting good behaviour, and adjusting to the various requirements of young students. The development of the practical abilities and self-assurance required to become an efficient and thoughtful primary school teacher will be greatly aided by this position.
The NOW group is where I had my final year placement. In this job role I had to work with young adults who had learning difficulties to teach them social skills to help them get in employment. Through this 6 week period, I had to work in the office in Belfast while also helping the participants in Youth Action to help them get the qualifications they needed to be able to find employment once they had finished their placements within the NOW group.
My main line of work while completing my school placement in St.Louise's was to help a student who had a physical disability to help her get to each class safely and help her catch up on any work that she might have had while being off due to her disability.
Some other roles I had while completing my placement were:
Communication Skills
Behaviour Management
Adaptability
Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support
Patience and Empathy
Team Collaboration
Organisational Skills
IT Skills
