Jodie Heaton

Flamborough ,East Yorkshire

Summary

From leaving education in 1998, I started my career with the Halifax PLC. I occupied a customer service position in a busy branch which gave me an excellent grounding in financial management and customer relations. During this period I enjoyed solving problems and helping people with daily banking enquiries.

My enthusiasm for working with the general public resulted in a career move to Co-operative Funeralcare where I felt I could make a real difference to people’s lives at the most difficult times. The skills and knowledge I had previously learnt laid the foundations for my subsequent employments and ultimately my career within the funeral industry.

The nature of my career has meant it was essential to maintain a high standard of care and confidentiality, along with excellent communication conveyed in a polite and empathic manner.

A number of my daily responsibilities were administrative tasks which means I have lots of transferable skills.

My core responsibilities included; liaising with colleagues, clients and families of all ethnicity, backgrounds and faiths to provide a full funeral service including coordinating clergy and suppliers to ensure the smooth running of funeral and memorial arrangements. This required me to maintain a high level of accuracy in all aspects of my work including written and financial documentation, managing stock and providing all available options.

Customer communication has always been a significant part of my career and I feel confident speaking to people both formally and informally.

I have a polite and professional manor along with strong interpersonal communication skills. I am experienced in all Microsoft applications and confident with IT generally. I take pride in my appearance both personally and within my workplace. I am a very through person who is persistent in tying up loose ends and seeing a job through to completion to the best of my abilities. I am reliable, trustworthy and confident in both team and individual working situations and consider myself to be a very conscientious and organised individual.

I am a sociable person who enjoys life to the full. I have a happy, bubbly personality with a positive and fun outlook on life.

As a married mum of 2, I enjoy quality time with my family unit, travelling and being in the outdoors, sampling a coffee and cake along the way.
