  • Authored ‘SHE Can’, a highly tailored project which aimed to inspire girls to find their voice, believe in their own ability and speak up, especially those from ‘disadvantaged’ or less represented groups in higher education. Used a consultation exercise with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback and created a product recognised by NEON, at its Summer Symposium in 2020. Please see here
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead trained with NSPCC, duties on programme include policy reviews, designing and delivering training to others.
  • Inclusive Hallam Champion representative for our department across the University focusing on equality and diversity and staff having me as a point of contact for any issues they may be facing.
  • Individual school and college programme design and budget management (in excess of 150,000 across Sheffield region).
  • Accountable for relationships with schools and colleges in the Sheffield region.
  • The results of my work at regional level form part of a twice-yearly reporting cycle to the OfS through their Monitoring Returns that hold Sheffield Hallam as a university to account on spend for the 4472 students within my region.
  • Significant line management of other staff and contribution towards the Development Programme that supports our delivery.
  • Led a strand of HeppSY’s outreach programme, which has included briefing, task assigning and proofing presentations and learning materials to make sure they are fit for purpose. These materials were used to migrate our work online and be used in other schools or college learning platforms.
  • This also involves a close working analysis of reports, research recommendations from organisations such as EMWREP, NEON or The Office for Students.
  • Liaison with external services or stakeholders active within the widening participation landscape in the region to encourage a collaborative approach.
  • Collaboration with colleagues at The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam to meet regional Access and Participation Plan targets.
  • Completion of research with focus on widening access for nontraditional or less represented groups in university settings.

  • Led Modern Foreign languages forum every half term for staff from local schools. We discussed key issues affecting teaching and learning within our subject area and possible solutions.
  • Contributed to various teams within school such as the Teaching and Learning group and the Middle Leaders training group, creating strategies to effectively manage and motivate staff.
